12:49 am - "I can see my lifetime piling up, days turn into nights" - David Byrne

I'm tired out. The weekend was fun, but not refreshing. Corey left Saturday night and I drove Peter to D.C. on Sunday. Today, at work, I sat through 3 meetings, which weren't that bad, they just used up my entire day. The last meeting just clarified and solidified the 18 million things on my to-do list—it is never complete.

I've been spending many late nights on stuff for a stewardship campaign at church. It is funny, everyone else working on this campaign VOLUNTEERED for it, but because of my job as the Communications Director, my boss "volunteered" me for it. I'm not mad about this, I am, afterall getting some good pieces for my portfolio and helping the church out emmensly in branding a high quality graphic image. God wants me here. That is more imporatant then my complaining side. I know that. So, I plug away. I make what I can. I try to catch up. I do, do, do. And I look for grace and I have faith in that God's work will be completed in me. I'm never done with my work, neither is God.

06:48 pm - Peter and Paul

I just got finished hanging out at work with two inspiring musicians: Peter Nevaland and Paul Finley. The came to the church today to talk to our music pastor and for Peter to perform the piece that we will share with the congregation at this weekend services. It was inspiring, energizing, and thought provoking…did I mention crazy entertaining? I can't wait for Peter to share, rather, to pour out, his God given gifts in a shower of funk and rythym on the church this weekend.

This is what he always does, this is his job—not to only the church but for all those who have ears to hear. But it will continue to take the church to listen before revolutions of eternal importance can take place, that is difficult, the church has the most earwax and ear infections, blocking it from really giving a listen. I hope they can connect to Salem Fields. I'll be praying…

10:44 am - Russ Lloyd, Jr., Mayor of Evansville — A Cher Fan?

That's right the mayor of my humble hometown of Evanvsille, Indiana opted out of an important city council meeting about a neighborhood's habitiual sewage backup and flooding problems so he could attend a Cher Concert. Russ Lloyd, Jr. is a Cher fan.

An the great thing about this is that The Daily Show decided it would be important enough new to cover. And the video to prove it is on their website:

01:30 pm - Weekend Friends

I just go off the phone with my best friend, Mr. Corey T. Wilson. He was in Ohio on track to Maryland. Tonight he will be watching the season premiere of Ed with our friend Tim—which my mother says is "crazy." That is, to drive from Ft. Wayne, IN to the D.C. metro area to watch a tv show. It could possibly be a sad excuse to hang out with some friends. ;) I am excited because I'll get to see Corey this weekend. He'll be down in Fredericksburg from Friday to Sunday. It will be a good time.

Oddly enough another friend, Peter Nevland, will be in town to hang out with his webmaster and do something in between shows. He does some mad spoken work/slam poetry put to funky music. I really dig it. You can hear some of his new stuff at his MP3.com site. I got him a gig to play a song at all three services this weekend at church. I hope the crowd digs him. He and his guitarist Paul Finley will get a chance to peddle some merch after the services.

06:13 pm - Food went bad…need more

I'm about to leave work. 9 to 6. I've got to get some food from the Walmart Supercenter. All my refridgerated food died at the hands of the elements: a room temperature apartment and a lack of electricity, this do to my dear Isabel. I don't enjoy shopping for food…there must be a better way. Maybe I can pretend to be an elderly blind man living in his wheel chair due to a bad case of diabettes so I can get "Meals on Wheels." Unfortunately, this will be difficult: people always think I'm younger than I am and I don't have a wheelchair. Until then, I'll just order out for itallian and wait in the deli line at Walmart.

I almost finished the work day on a light, easy note, but I made a phone call that made me anxious and unsure. Those feelings may stay with me through most of the night. I guess, we'll have to see.

09:34 am - Power is up, Internet is down.

I'm posting this from work because everytime I try to use my cable internet at home it doesn't seem to work. I've done the whole call the cable company thing and they are going to check out my lines and try to amplify the signal. It seems that the Hurricane not only caused millions of people to lose power (including myself), but has also affected the infrastructure of my information consumption resource. Maybe this is a good thing…Prehaps I could read a book or organize my aparatment? Or maybe I will just wait by my computer and watch the blinking green lights on my cable modem until something happens. That's what I did last night. Yes, it was sad.

I've been pluggging away at getting this blog up and running as a channel on my website. The XML has been consumed and my website is now spitting out this blog as I type this.

04:35 pm - Finally I have a blog, I recently got a cell phone, and I just started tight rolling my jeans.

My good friend Digital11 a.k.a. Chris set me up with a brand spanking new blog so I can egotistically post my on-line journal for the world to see. It may not be interesting, it definitely won't be cool, but if you enjoy hearing me wax unpotetically about my going's on in Fredericksburg, VA. this is the place to be. I guess.
